Omiq Project and Dream Gate are projects with their roots in ambient music and in psychedelic trance respectively, being these projects headed by Daniel Belo and S?rgio Walgood, both natural from Lisbon. Daniel Belo started really early to be interested by electronic music, having formed his first project in the year 2000, with the name Ilythiiri Project. On the other hand, S?rgio Walgood had is first contacts with music by the age of 10, when he started playing guitar. In 1996 he started a Blues band with a another friend, but this project never left the garage. In 1999 he started being more interested by electronic music, and gained quickly the taste for music production, having found in the same year a psychedelic trance project named PLUR Project. In 2002 the two of them met through the Internet and soon decided to make a project called Dream Gate, with lots of influences on Goa Trance. In this project both of them try to reach a mix between nowadays sonority and the melodies and musical construction of Goa Trance. The musical evolution of both of them, took them to create a paralel project of ambient music, which they decided to name as Omiq Project. Their influences take them to create an alternative sonority, with passages through Ambient ChillOut, Dub, Trip-Hop, IDM and a little bit of Break Beat, always with hipnotic melodies and lots of psychedelic references. Their debut happened as an Omiq Project live, in a party by Twilight Zone, in September of 2003. After it they already act in events for promoters such as Quest4goa, Crystal Matrix and Deep Sonar, with names such as Infected Mushroom, Sub 6, Void, Sirius Isness, Xerox and Illumination, Penta, Polaris, Suria, Menog and Zero Sequence, amoung others, being that it?s waited more news about these projects for soon.
